Batu empedu merupakan penyakit yang sering dinegara barat, namun akhir-akhir ini nampak bahwa di Indonesia insidenya juga meningkat Meskipun pengobaran utama batu empedu adalah pembedahan, namun pada kasus-kasus tertentu pengobatan disolusi (penghancuran batu) baik secara sendiri maupun dengan kombinasi dengan “Extra Shock Wave Litotiypsy” merupakan pilihan pertama . Untuk mengetahui secara rasional tentang pengobatan disolusi, pencegahan kekambuhan setelah keberhasilan pengobatan kouservatif dan pencegahan terjadinya batu empedu, pemahaman tentang proses terjadinya batu empedu sangat diperlukan. makalah ini mendiskusikan tentang mekanisme terjadinva batu empedu.
Gallstone is a common disease in the western country, however the incidence in Indonesia seems increase recently. Although the main therapoetic modality for treating the gallstone is surgeiy, in some certain cases the dissolution theraphy as a single modality of threatment or in combination with Extra Shock Wave Litotrypsv is the first of choice. To know the rational of dissolution theraphy, to prevent the recurrent after successfully conservative freatment and to prevent the occurrence of the gallstone, the knowlegde of the gallstone formation should be well understood. The review of gallstone formation will be discussed in this article.
