Pengaruh Pemberian Jambu Biji (Psidium guajava L) pada Lipid Serum Tikus (Sprague Dawley)Hiperkolestromi)

Latar belakang: Serat makanan yang banyak terdapat pada buah-buahan dan sayur telah ditengarai dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol darah balk pada manusia maupun hewan percobaan. Di Indonesia, belum ada penelitian terhadap jambu biji yang mudah diperoleh dan cukup digemari masyarakat, yang kadar seratnya cukup tinggi (48.3%) di banding/can kelompok serealia (20%) . Berdasarkan kenyataan tersebut, dilakukan penelitian untuk mempelajari pengaruh pemberian tepung jambu bUi dalam berbagai konsentrasi di dalam makanan terhadap profil lipid darah tikus hiperkolesteroemi.
Metoda: Suatu penelitian dengan desain control group pre-post test dilakzanakan terhadap tikus Sprague Dawley yang telah dibuat hiperkolesterolemi, yang diberi makanan mengandung tepungjambu biji dalam konsentrasi 2%, 4%, 8%, dan 16%. Kadar kolesterol total, HDL dan LDL-kolesterol serta trigliserida serum darah tikus diperiksa dengan metoda CHO-PAP dan GPO-PAP Data dianalisis dengan uji—t dan A nova dengan menggunakan program SPSS versi- 11, dengan derajat kemaknaan 5%.
Hash: Ternyata pemberian pakan yang mengandung tepung jambu biji 16% mampu menurunkan kadar kolesterol total, LDL kolesterol dan trigliserida serum secara sangat bermakna (p: 0.000, 0.001 dan 0.001). Namun pemberian pakan tersebut tidak meningkatkan kadar HDL-kolesterol serum hewan percobaan.
Simpulan: Diet mengandung 16% tepung guava dapat menekan serum total kolesterol, LDL kolesterol dan trigliserida pada tikus yang hiperkolesterolemi.

Background: Dietary fiber present in fruits and vegetables are reported to have lowering effect on blood cholesterol both in human and animal experiments. In Indonesia, guava fruit which has high content of dietary fiber (48,3%) is well known, easily found and consumed widely However, no study was done on this fruit. Thus a study to determine the effect of d proportion of dried guava incorporated in the diet on lipid profile ofhypercholesteroemic rats.
Method: An experimental study using control group with pre and post test design was carried out to already made-hypercholesteroemic Sprague Dawley rats. They were given diet containing 2%, 4%, 8% and 16% dried grinded guava for 30 days. Serum cholesterol fractions and triglyceride were measured before and after the treatment, using CHOp-PAP and GPO-PAP methods respectively. Data were analyzed using SPSS program version 11, and t test andAnova were used to see the difference between the value of blood lipid profiles. The degree ofsign was 5%.
Result: The study revealed that incorporating 16% dried guava powder into the rats diet was able sign /icantly to reduce the total serum cholesteroll (p=O. 000), LDL-cholesterol (p=O. 001) and triglyceride (p=O. 001). However, the diets were not able to increase the HDL-cholesterol of the experiment rats.
Conclusion: Diet containing 16% dried guaya was able to reduce serum total-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and triglyceride significantly in hypercholesterolemic rats.
